Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This is Katy Pfaffl’s second CD, her first being the 2002 self-titled Katy Pfaffl. “As She Stands” incorporates sounds of jazz and pop in a lovely way.

Her voice is crystal clear and compliments the music wonderfully.

“Catch Me” is a pretty folky song with great lyrics and is probably my favorite track.

As eyes become cameras
Every thought captured with a snap
Living photographs
As eyes become canyons
Heavy boulders break with no sound
As they’re loosening the ground

I love her version of The Beatles’ “Blackbird”.

“Steady She Goes” sounds like it could have been from a stage play, it’s got a nice theatrical feel to it.

If you like your pop-rock-folk with a jazzy edge you’ll enjoy “As She Stands”.
