Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This is Corrinne May’s debut recording and what a way to begin a successful career! This is one of those albums that when you hear it you just know you’ve hit on something big.

Corrinne’s voice is gorgeous, clear, strong yet calming and emotional. Her piano playing is lovely and he has a knack for writing songs that are both unique and radio-friendly. Comparisons may be made to Vienna Teng (and not just because they’re both Asian) and Chantal Kreviazuk.

Some of these songs would perfect for film soundtrack music. “Fly Away” in particular. They are mostly piano ballads but she also adds the occasional pop turn as in “Something About You”.

If Corrinne May doesn’t have a successful career in music then I’ve lost any faith I’ve ever had in the industry. She’s a gem.

I can’t believe ‘fly away’ and ‘journey’ are sung by a singaporean when i first heard them. It’s truly pleasant and at the same time, enticing when i listen to her songs. Buy the CD to believe it yourself
