Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I usually like to browse through the artist’s website while I am listening and preparing to write the review. I have to say I had fun on Debe’s site. She’s got a soapbox section where one can rant about what ever is pissing you off at the time and read her musings. She also has all her lyrics listed (even though they are also included in the CD packaging which is nice) but when you look at them online you get to see pictures of her 2 doggies.

Her vocal style reminded me a lot of Suzanne Vega’s on track one. Her songs are mostly about people in general, love and her puppies. I especially like the chorus lyrics from “Can’t Find Time”

And, outside everything looks fine
But it’s way past Prozac time
She’d like to lose her mind, but she can’t find the time.

This is a likeable folk-pop recording with some clever lyrics and nice vocals.
