Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Christelle Delaney is a talented French singer and this is a release that’s already gotten praise in her native land.

“A Toute Alerte” opens with muted electronics and acoustic guitar framing her lovely voice.

The catchy “Sur La Place Lili Boulanger” is one of the album’s standouts. Delaney’s restrained vocal and her capable guitar playing add to its strengths. I’m reminded of the recently popular Keren Ann and Francoiz Breut.

“Mes sourires Par Interim” is lead by a soft melody and a whisper of a vocal.

“Une Musique Tragique” is surprisingly up-tempo and its half-spoken vocal makes it urgent.

“Come Aux Alentours” is another strong song. Delaney’s adopting more of a rock sound here than elsewhere.

Delaney’s an artist I hope will win many new admirers with this album.
