Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

John McKinstry makes his solo debut after being in the band the Skanksters. A recent two year “walkabout”( I can never hear that word without thinking of Crocodile Dundee), inspired the singer to make this music.

Mary Celeste is a joyous celebration of life, McKinstry singing in a relaxed fashion to a solid backing.

Crackdown is a bit rougher, a catchy rhythm underpinning the melody.

Andean Heights is a reggae-tinged track about the joys of climbing mountains.

The title song is about daring to hope for a change in these troubled times and is as upbeat as they come. The singer sounds convincingly hopeful. His record is a great thing.
