Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

English singer Lily Fraser makes her debut with this record, which is still a collection of demos. It sounds like finished product to me, and it’s on sale online.

Opener “Shout it Out” sees a Heather Nova-ish vocal wed to strings and galloping beats.

“This Life” features a harp, which provides a pleasing sound.

“About You” is charming and recalls a younger Kate Bush. The intensity and delicacy mix intriguingly.

“Old Devil Shine” is lovely, Fraser’s vocal being flexible and the strings working well. Fraser cautions about a dangerous man in the lyrics. “Old devil shine is a man with magical eyes” she sings.

The song like all the others sounds complete to me. Lily Fraser’s arrived and I think she’s here to stay.
