Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Women in Docs is female duo Roz Pappalardo and Chanel Lucas, from Australia. I guess I would classify their sound as folk but with a heavy dose of pop.

If like me you are enamored with the Australian accent you will enjoy listening to these ladies sing. I love it when people that are not American sing in their native accent, or non-accent as it is to them. On the flip side I find it quite annoying when Americans sing with an English or other accent. (Paging Green Day! But I digress, yes. I do.)

“I Wanna See” has them sounding a little too Wilson Phillips for my taste. I think it’s because of the unison singing. I prefer it when they’re harmonizing.

“Supermarket” is adorable. The tempo is upbeat and the melody is charming. I want to sing along in the car.

“Alright” uses piano as the main instrument and it’s beautiful. This song is much more laid back in tempo than most of the others but I dare say I like it best. Today anyway. These songs are all really good so I change my favorites every now and then.

Probably the most radio friendly song in my eyes (ears?) is “Fade Away”. You will want to sing along.

In the need for some feel good pop to keep you company this summer this is a good choice.
