Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

The Hickories have been compared to REM a few times. I guess that’s a pretty fair comparison, but mainly because I can’t think of anyone else that’s even remotely similar. This is good. Uniqueness is good.

If we’re talking REM it’s early REM. The Hickories have a more mellow-pop sound for the most part. It’s very nice. They know how to write and play a good pop song.

The production on this EP is also very good. Very classy. From the slick liner notes to the quality of the sound. These guys mean business.

If you like good, intellipop, check them out.
