Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Well this is odd, Iceland’s Mor Margaret Eir and Robert Porhallsson play eight songs by Duran Duran in a jazz style. Even odder is that it works just fine.

Eir has a lovely voice and Porhallsson’s bass backs it well. “Save a Prayer” has a yearning quality that this new version fully explores. It’s more than mere nostalgia; Eir really gets to the heart of the song.

“Notorious” is a riot in this version, it swings like never before and must be a real treat live.

I’ve always liked the sad “Ordinary World” and this version does it justice.

There’s nothing of novelty about this record, which is refreshing. It’s just two musicians who pay tribute to a band they like.
