Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Being pals with an artist always has its perks. I was lucky enough to get my hot little hands on a very advanced (yet fully finished) copy of “Mulligan” and I have to say, I think this is Anne’s best to date.

Anne’s voice is still killer. It’s gusty, sultry, and sexy and it never fails to give me chills.

This time Anne has added the talent of a couple of extra players. Chadly Kopenhaver on drums, Ben Johnson on Bass and Jon Kohler on lead guitar. They sound fantastic together. Anne is a great performer on her own but these added players creates a very full, rich sound.

“Love Is Never Something To Betray” is a great song about realizing that even though something right in front of you may be tempting it’s not worth giving up what you have. Very well written.

I first heard “Crawl” before it had a name, she played it at one of our house concerts and I was blown away. I am again. After listening to this song, it was stuck in my head for a full day. The bass makes it even sexier. Good Ear Worm material.

“You’ll Always Win” is a beautiful love song. Anne’s talent for lyrics shines here especially.

Honestly these are all really good songs and I’m sure upon further listen I’ll pick out more that are my favorites.

If you like your folky blues with a clear strong vocal Anne Deming is your best bet.
