Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I reviewed Anny’s first CD, “Strange and Beautiful” back in 2000. In fact, it was one of the first CDs I ever reviewed. I listened to it a lot back then, but didn’t think that I would remember any of the songs having not heard them for several years. But this new CD has a few of the same songs, and I was surprised to learn that I remembered them very well…and still liked them!

Anny’s genre is hard to peg. She’s pop, I guess, but there’s a more adult sound to it than your average pop stuff. She has a very commercial appeal sound, while still being a tad edgy. I’m frankly surprised that she’s not more well known after all this time, and all that talent.

Stand out songs: I still like “Gonna Get Mine” and “Purple God” which were on her previous CD, but I like new tracks, “I Want To Break Free” and “Helpless” as well.
