Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

The music of the Wilson guys (Dan’s brother Matt is also a fabulous musician) is always very comfortable to me. I spent many of my college years listening to Trip Shakespeare and since have loved all the projects in which they’ve been involved. Most of the Semisonic songs felt like old friend upon the very first listen. These do too.

The very first song started and I sort of went *sigh* and thought, “home”. I just adore his songwriting, his voice, his melodies, everything.

Breathless is an easy radio pick. Very catchy and pop filled.

Come Home Angel is beautiful. Lush and full.

I guess if I listened long enough I would eventually mention all the songs as stand outs, so I guess I’ll stop now.

These songs are well written and expertly performed. Everything about this record is a hit with me. From the writing to the production and of courseā€¦that voice that melts me. A class act. This will fit well in almost anyone’s record collection.
