Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

One of this year’s new finds is Norwegian Hanne Hukkelberg. Her debut is mature and assured. There’s enough inventiveness here to make her name well known.

“Searching” bears a resemblance to Stina Nordenstam’s icy composure. Hukkelberg’s girlish vocals are a thing of joy here.

The sense of playfulness is apparent in “Little Girl” a song that merges showtunes with pop. The comparisons with Björk make perfect sense while hearing this.

“Do Not as I Do” has a jazzy slant to it and Hukkelberg’s enchanting vocals spice it up.

This might be one of the year’s best records, perhaps even the best debut. So go investigate.
